John is a progressive Democrat and supports the work of the Democratic party at the federal level and the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party at the state level.
John is a baptized member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Currently, John is a member of Dilworth Lutheran Church, where his godmother, Pastor Elizabeth Hiller, serves.
John is currently the Communications & Events Coordinator for the Northwestern Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Previous employment includes working for Concordia College’s Office of Ministry.
After visiting Concordia College in Moorhead for the 2010-2011 All-State Honor Band, John fell in love with the campus and the city of Moorhead. Determined to attend school in Moorhead, John only applied to Concordia College. After being accepted in late 2010, John began his plans to move to Moorhead to pursue a degree in music and business.
After nearly completing his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in business at Concordia, John decided to shift his focus and pursue his Bachelor of Music degree with a focus on music theory & composition.
In May of 2015, John received his Bachelor of Music degree with a major in music theory & composition. John graduated summa cum laude and with music honors.
Childhood & Family Life
John Bell has been a Minnesota resident his entire life. John lived in the same house in Ham Lake, MN for his entire childhood attending Andover High School and graduating in June, 2011. He was an active member of his church and school, often participating in theater productions and music ensembles. One of his favorite things to do as a kid was visit his grandparents and to go on boat rides in Crosslake, MN.
John is the third of six children having two brothers and three sisters. His mother is a Registered Nurse currently working as a home health aide. His father is a train engineer.
